Tech Tuesday – April 28, 2009
5:30PM – 6:30PM
at The Black Door (3rd Floor), Montpelier

The last Tech Tuesday was an open conversation on the topic of social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc), and a local networking opportunity. Our shared goal was to increase our social media literacy–how it works, strategies, successes and pitfalls. The event was well attended by area businesses and by local service providers.

Topics:

  • A conversation with Donald Rae of the Green Mountain Film Festival:
This time around we’ve invited Donald Rae, Managing Director of Green Mountain Film Festival to give a presentation and share his experience on how GMFF used social media to promote the festival. Carter Stowell (Figrig) has worked with GMFF to deliver its website for seven years running, and will accompany Donald for the presentation, to be followed by a Q&A session.
  • We will be sharing a few of “mini-profiles” of businesses/organizations using social media for NPO Fundraising, Retail Promotion, and Event Promotion. The formal portion of our meeting will conclude at 6:30 but conversations are welcome to linger on.

Food and bar will be available. Please pass the word and bring a friend.

Please let us know you’re attending by leaving a comment below! We’ll see you there.

Bummer…can’t make this one as it is my birthday and I will be celebrating with my family. I’ve been actively using Twitter to “rebuild” my brand around my interest in food. Shortly after starting w/ Twitter, I started a blog (mid March), and found the two to work well together in creating my brand.

Cheers!
