If you’ve been laid off and are looking for work then this is for you.
One of the advantages of living in a small state over a large is the sense of community. That’s not to say we all see eye to eye but I like to think we are more aware of what’s happening in our State. And an individual can actually make a difference here – especially when there’s a need and they put their mind to solving the need.
With the economy in shambles some of our neighbors are in a bit of a rough spot. Some of those laid off are having a tough time finding employment. This is where Joe Mescher and the Vermont Video Resume Project come in. Joe had the idea to create a website where people use Social Media Technology in their search for a new job. And it’s open to “every unemployed Vermonter.” The concept is simple enough – put together video resumes for unemployed Vermonters and post them where would-be employers can view them.
There are more details coming but the project is gaining momentum. As of right now Joe is seeking space for shooting the videos and a place to host them. He’s also talking with local media outlets. To take part in this project visit the Vermont Video Resume Project website and fill out the form at the bottom of the home page! You’ll be glad you did.
UPDATE:: Joe had a conversation with Cathy Resmer at Seven Days. Seven Days will be adding a blog to their website dedicated to the project.

Thanks for writing such a thoughtful post about the project Gregg!
You’re the type of person who makes community projects like this possible.
Joe
